High Expectations Parental Service is an educational consulting firm whose purpose is to significantly impact student achievement through increased family engagement in the educational process.
High Expectations Parental Service provides training and professional development to both families and school staff. Families are empowered with the tools, resources and skills needed to support child’s academic success. School staff receives the professional development needed to create a school climate and culture where all families feel welcomed and valued. Both families and schools are prepared to partner with one another to ensure the academic excellence of all students.
High Expectations Parental Service strives to shift the way children are currently educated. Schools can no longer take on the sole responsibility of educating children. An emphasis must be placed on family engagement as an essential component to student success. We are committed to having the difficult discussions that lead to strong and sustained family and school partnerships. Our model is based on building the capacity of schools and families to sustain the engagement strategies beyond High Expectations Parental Service’s involvement.
We have committed ourselves to a set of Core Beliefs that are beautifully articulated in the 2006 book, Beyond the Bake Sale.
All parents have dreams for their children and want the best for them.
All parents have the capacity to support their children’s learning.
Parents and school staff should be equal partners.
The responsibility for building partnerships between school and home rests primarily with school staff, especially school leaders.
Partnerships with families are essential to academic achievement (added by High Expectations, based on family engagement research).
