School Family Engagement Teams
High Expectations partners with schools to develop and implement family engagement practices that lead to increased student achievement, stronger relationships, and improved climate and culture.
OUR APPROACH
We support schools to establish and build the capacity of a family engagement team to assess present family engagement practices, implement engagement activities, evaluate next steps, and continue to improve and coordinate practices for all types of family engagement. School teams include Administrators, Teachers, Families, Family and Community Engagement Staff and other key staff.
2-day Family Engagement
Learning Institute
This training program is designed to build the capacity of school teams to develop, implement and evaluate family engagement practices that lead to increased academic outcomes.

At the Institute, school teams:
  • Work together to develop a family engagement action plan that is directly linked to student achievement.
  • Learn to align family engagement practices with the School Site Plan and District goals and priorities.
  • Identify strategies for engaging families the school has struggled to engage
  • Learn to develop, implement and evaluate family engagement practices as professional learning communities.

This approach aligns with the Family Engagement Dual Capacity Building Framework, a tool approved by the US Dept. of Education and practices developed by the National Network of Partnership Schools.
